He was born in Wirksworth, Derbyshire and now lives in Matlock with his wife and three children. He is a practising Christian, a lover of sport (especially cricket), and an intermittent gardener.
As Chief Executive of Framework Housing Association, Andrew is strongly committed to the social inclusion of homeless and other vulnerable people, including those with high and complex needs. He hopes that through his membership of the One Nottingham Board, he can help to build relationships with statutory and other partners that will deliver this.
Andrew is also an advocate for the voluntary sector, in all its diversity, as an important part of the social fabric. He strongly believes that by reaching and engaging with people and communities outside the mainstream, its role in speaking truth to power, and as a voice for the voiceless, is crucial.
Andrew sees One Nottingham as having an important part in bringing together people from all areas of the city’s life, to make it a dynamic, prosperous and caring place. He hopes he can bring his experience, values and such insights as he may have, to assist the development of a great city, in the interests of all its people.
