He is an entrepreneur, and until recently was Co-Owner and Corporate Director of Care Standards Pathway Care Solutions, East Midlands.
Mike’s background is in housing. He is a member of the Boards of Nottingham City Homes and Nottingham Community Housing Association, Vice Chair of Tuntum Housing Association, and is a trustee for the Young Creative Awards.
Previously Mike chaired the Nottingham Hostel’s Liaison Group and Nottingham People’s Housing Association. He has experience with the Housing Corporation [now Homes & Communities Agency], where he served as the Investment Lead for the East Midland’s Region and lead regional coordinator for the Teenage Pregnancy Initiative and the BME Housing Strategy. Whilst with the Housing Corporation, he developed a sound understanding of strategic capital & revenue, investment, regulation, Inspection and financial appraisal.
Mike has over 25 years’ experience of middle to senior management. In 1994 Mike won the housing profession’s national Malcolm Magee Memorial Award.
Mike also has experience of service planning and review, operational and strategic planning, the mechanics of Local and Central Government and working within political and performance-driven environments. He has many years direct business management experience; and previously co-owned a medium sized, Nottingham-based, regional enterprise which employs around 200 people across Nottingham, and Yorkshire and Humberside. In this role he hosted a number of Nottingham City apprentices and NTU/Hallam University social work students, and employed a significant number of Nottingham people.
Mike’s other interests include reading, psychology, politics, resistance sports and travelling.
