The Nottingham Plan to 2020

Nottingham from today to tomorrow. Over 1,500 people joined in our I'maginiNG programme in 2007/08 when we asked you to imagine what sort of city you would like Nottingham to be in 2030.

Photograph by Kayleigh DawsonYour views have helped shape The Nottingham Plan to 2020, our Sustainable Community Strategy - a 10 year plan which sets out this vision of what Nottingham should look like in the future. This is a 10 year strategy to 2020, but it is being guided by One Nottingham's longer term 20 year Vision for the City of Nottingham for 2030.

Our Vision is:

  • Go ahead Nottingham
  • Safe, clean, ambitious, proud

Nottingham in 2030 will be a city which has tackled deprivation and inequality by:

  • Being one of Nottingham's top ten cities for science and innovation, sport and culture
  • Making every neighbourhood a great place to live
  • Giving the best start in life to all of our children and young people
  • Making poverty history

We will do this by being radical, bold and daring to be different.

The Nottingham Plan to 2020 is our route map for organisations in the city which which will help us work together with local people, our diverse communities, voluntary groups and businesses and all our partners in One Nottingham to make change happen. 

The Plan has now been approved by the One Nottingham Board and the City Council and was officially launched on 5 October at a special event at the Council House.
